Seat launches Ultimate Sub8 performance pack
Seat’s Leon SC Cupra 280 is now able to upgraded with a brand new ‘Ultimate Sub8’ performance package, that amounted to ￡4200.
Building around the Sub8 package launched in August 2014, Leon Cupra models outfitted using the new package get 30mm bigger Brembo brakes, Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres, new side skirts and alloy wheels, and weight reductions within the standard vehicle.
Changes include swapping the conventional Leon’s heating and cooling system for any smaller sized heater, lowering the standard audio system’s eight loudspeakers to four and taking out the center console armrest, rear air vents and front self storage units. Seat has not revealed just how much weight continues to be saved within the standard vehicle, which weighs 1395kg in manual form.
Each vehicle is going to be created to order, with customers able to select from whether six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission. Consistent with the car’s stripped-out approach, there’s no options list.
Seat states the model mirrors the precise specs from the Leon that broke the leading-wheel drive production vehicle record in the Nürburgring this past year – an archive which was replaced by Renault shortly later on using the Megane 275 Trophy-R.
The Leon SC Cupra 280 Ultimate Sub8, that amounted to ￡31,410 in manual form, is ￡5020 less expensive than the Megane 275 Trophy-R, that amounted to ￡36,430.
